COMMISSIONING A PIECE

 

How it works

Commissioning artwork is very easy and it can be shipped anywhere! Simply email me at katies.nielsen@gmail.com and we can get started!

  • Step 1: Email me the picture that you want turned into a portrait. All pieces are created from pictures, and you must own the rights to the photo. Higher resolution photos create better works of art so try to find a clear, high resolution photo for your commissioned piece. 

  • Step 2: We can discuss what medium you want (pencil, acrylic, or pastel), size, and style (realistic or impressionist).

  • Step 3: I give you a quote and an estimated date of completion. 

Prices

Pricing depends on the size, medium, style, and amount of detail of the piece. For acrylic and pastel paintings, contact me directly for a quote. The following prices are for pencil portraits with one subject and no background:

  • 8" x 10" = $300

  • 11" x 14" = $350

​

If you would like more than one subject in the portrait or would like the background drawn in, contact me to discuss the price.  

Shipping

If you live in Calgary and area, we can arrange for pick-up. If not, portraits can be shipped to anywhere. Shipping costs are not included in the price of the artwork.
